Tie & Try Fishing Trip
Join CWA as we “Tie & Try” on the Gunp`owder River in Maryland
Trip Overview
Tie your own flies from experienced Tight Linings MD instructors . Put your creations to work on a half day guided fly fishing trip on the beautiful Gunpowder Falls. All skill levels welcome in a fun, supportive learning environment.
Schedule:
Day 1 (7 November): Half day fly tying, most likely at the Isaac Walton League in MD (1pm-5pm)
Day 2 (8 November): Half day guided fishing on the Gunpowder with your flies. (10am-2pm)

$225/person
Availability
Limited to 7-8 anglers.
What is Included?
All fly tying equipment and materials.
Four hour instruction for fly tying AND four hour guide service on the Gunpowder.
What is Not Included?
Food and snacks
Rods, reels, leader, and tipper
Wading equipment
Note: Rods, Reels & Tippet are available for loan if needed
Fishing License Requirements
All anglers are required to have a valid Maryland fishing license with trout stamp

Trip Overview
Join CWA and NVTU for a day fishing at Catoctin Creek. This is a great spot for beginners or more advanced anglers looking to get out on the water with some friends. Bring a lunch as we'll take a break midway through for lunch to socialize. If you would like support on the water, there will be members from both groups that will be available to help.

Trip Overview
Join CWA members for a coffee and casting event. This spot is perfect for beginners as well as more experienced anglers just looking for a reason to get on the water. We will have the option of fishing the creek or the lake depending on water levels as well as accessibility.

Gunpowder Fishing with NVTU, TPFR, and CWA
Fishing on the Gunpowder with Northern Virginia Trout Unlimited (NVTU), Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders (TPFR) and CWA
Trip Overview
Join NVTU and TPFR for a day fishing the beautiful Gunpowder surrounded by magnificent fall foliage. All levels welcome!
Meet at the Gunpowder River, Bunker Hill access (river right) at the big paved parking lot at the west end of Bunker Hill Road, go west from the intersection with York Road (Hereford High School).

4 Mile Run Kaya Clean Up Fishing Trip
Join CWA for a River Clean Up in Alexandria, Virginia
Trip Overview
This is your opportunity to give back to your community! The Kayak trash clean up on 4 mile run in Alexandria, VA is in conjunction with the 4 mile run conservatory.
Kayaks and clean up tools will be provided for everyone to use however, it is recommend to bring gloves to keep hands clean during the clean up. Also, bring your water bottle! There will be a water cooler to fill your bottle up when it gets low.
Lunch will be provided after the clean up. Lost Dog Cafe will deliver pizza to us at the boat launch (gluten free and regular options will be available).
You can fish 4 mile run before or after the clean up on your own. It's recommended that you wear waders in the water.

Euro Nymphing Clinic
Euro Nymphing Clinic with Tight Lining MD
Learn the technique of Euro nymphing in a small group experience from guide Mike Slepesky from Tight Lining MD. Open to 6-7 anglers of all levels of experience. Deadline for registration is May 9, 2026.
Cost: $250/pp
When: June 7th, 2026 starting at 6:45am
Where: Gunpowder River, MD
Includes: Mike will provide on and off the water instruction in small groups (2-3 anglers) and all nymphing gear and set ups (unless you have your own, in which case, you can use it). The session will begin with 4 hours of on-the-water instruction and wrap up with a 2-hour sit-down portion at Manor Tavern in Monkton where you can enjoy lunch if you choose. Must have your own boots/waders and a current MD fishing license with trout stamp. Pay directly to tightliningmd.com via PayPal or Venmo.
