Join CWA for Coffee and Casting in Fairfax, Virginia
Trip Overview
Royal Lake Park is a 46-acre park in Fairfax. There is a one and three-quarter mile loop trail around the lake that begins from the parking lot. You can stretch that to almost two miles by taking optional side trails, such as hiking along the top of the nearly quarter-mile dam instead of along its base. There are a lot of access points to the water to make fishing easy. Lake is full of blue gill, crappie, and bass. It's a great way to kill a few hours fishing and you may see turtles, signs of beaver, squirrels, ducks, geese and other waterfowl.
Game plan:
We start at 8:30 in the parking lot helping anyone set their rod up for the morning day of fishing
Demonstration/Reminders on how to Roll Cast and Back Cast - work with anyone that would like a bit of extra help with that
Get everyone on a fish!
This is going to cater to beginners however, if anyone wants to come and fish you are welcome! Bring your morning bevy with you to enjoy a morning of casting and coffee.
