4 Mile Run Kaya Clean Up Fishing Trip

Join CWA for a River Clean Up in Alexandria, Virginia

Trip Overview

This is your opportunity to give back to your community! The Kayak trash clean up on 4 mile run in Alexandria, VA is in conjunction with the 4 mile run conservatory.

Kayaks and clean up tools will be provided for everyone to use however, it is recommend to bring gloves to keep hands clean during the clean up. Also, bring your water bottle! There will be a water cooler to fill your bottle up when it gets low.

Lunch will be provided after the clean up. Lost Dog Cafe will deliver pizza to us at the boat launch (gluten free and regular options will be available).

You can fish 4 mile run before or after the clean up on your own. It's recommended that you wear waders in the water.

What is Included?

  • Kayaks

  • Cleaning tools

  • Lunch

What is Not Included?

  • Fishing equipment (DIY after the river clean up)

Fishing License Requirements

  • If you fish, you are required to have a valid Virginia fishing license

Euro Nymphing Clinic

Euro Nymphing Clinic with Tight Lining MD

Learn the technique of Euro nymphing in a small group experience from guide Mike Slepesky from Tight Lining MD. Open to 6-7 anglers of all levels of experience. Deadline for registration is May 9, 2026.

Cost: $250/pp

When: June 7th, 2026 starting at 6:45am

Where: Gunpowder River, MD

Includes: Mike will provide on and off the water instruction in small groups (2-3 anglers) and all nymphing gear and set ups (unless you have your own, in which case, you can use it). The session will begin with 4 hours of on-the-water instruction and wrap up with a 2-hour sit-down portion at Manor Tavern in Monkton where you can enjoy lunch if you choose. Must have your own boots/waders and a current MD fishing license with trout stamp. Pay directly to tightliningmd.com via PayPal or Venmo.
