Fly of the Month: Skinny Bugger

Each month we highlight a fly pattern that we think you should know and carry - this month it is the Skinny Bugger!

What’s a skinny bugger? It’s a wooly bugger in a slimmer profile with less ‘fluff’. Sometimes fish get turned off by an over embellished fly pattern, and the skinny bugger is a reminder to us all that most bait fish, especially vulnerable ones that make for nice snacks, are pretty skinny. As you put the finishing touches on your summer fishing, tie up a few of these patterns to imitate crawfish too! Strip them hard to imitate a wounded fish and get a good chase. These are a great option for still water and summertime bass.
