Fly of the Month: Old Bat Caddis

Fall is coming quick, and that means it’s time to break out those fall caddis patterns for some great dry fly action. We’d argue there is nothing more rewarding than having a trout rise and gulp your dry fly from the surface, and this pattern is sure to entice one of those bites. The green accent hints of a caddis fly that is still emerging from the shuck and got stuck during transition, with lots of fluff to help keep it afloat even in fast moving water. Be sure to whip up a few of these before heading out to the stream this fall.
